Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga was discovered in 1930 by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois and his teacher Sri. Trimulai Krisnamacharya at Calcutta University. As the story goes, they found a copy of Rsi Vamana´s book call the “Yoga Korunta”, this book had the original six series of Ashtanga as is practiced today. As there is no written documentation to verify this, the Yoga Korunta knowledge passed away with Krishnamacharya. However we can see clearly the transformative power of this system, through the thousand of practitioners who keep the tradition moving and evolving.

This system is a dynamic for of Hatha Yoga in which the vinyasa ingredient, breath and movement connection, is considering one of the most important elements. This connection combine with the activation of bandhas (energetic locks) and drishty (where you put your gaze), have the capacity to transform your physical and mental body.

All the inner heath and the high levels of concentration producing through the practice are going to help you to remove toxins out of your system, not only those who come from food also metal toxins, this detoxify effect will make your body and mind, stronger, flexible and balance, promoting a greater state of harmony and peace in your life.

In Its Yoga system we practice traditional primary series twice a week, with the idea to calm your energy, bring more strength to your legs, back and open up your hips. All these will make your foundation stronger, from here you are going to be able to build the most challenging asanas in our system in a safe way.
